Welcome
Beware! Scammers are at work!
On March 20, some parishioners began receiving bogus texts from someone identifying as Father Chandler, asking for gift cards to help someone in need. Please be advised that these texts are not from Father.

Latest News from Our Sister Parish in Jeremie, Haiti
The current state of the small country of Haiti is chaos, as it has been since 2021. The legitimacy of the government remains in question, and that government has declared a state of emergency through April 3. Gangs impose their own power over areas throughout the nation. Many schools and business (including banks) are closed. Wiring funds is a difficult task.
Jack Lydon of our Sister Parish Committee corresponds on behalf of our Cathedral with Fr. Mark-Arthur, pastor of Cathedral St. Louis in Jeremie Haiti. Here is Father Mark-Arthur’s latest response to Jack.
Mr. Jack Lydon,
Thank you for your email. I was just thinking of sending you an acknowledgment of receipt of the bank transfer for the benefit of food for the students of the Sainte Therese de Jeremie School. You will find the acknowledgement of receipt attached. Schools are still not reopened in Jeremie. We hope that next Monday, March 11, 2024, classes will be able to start again. When there is no class, there is no way to distribute food to students, because the streets are not safe and parents keep their children at home.
My colleague and I are safe. We accompany the parishioners of Saint Louis Cathedral through prayer, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the rosary and any other spiritual activity that can support their faith in these difficult times.
Thank you for your attention and support.
Fraternally,
Father Marc-Arthur Emile
Our Lady of the Assumption and St. Louis, we send our prayers through you for our brothers and sisters in Haiti. Amen.
